Disclosures
Disclosures
The regulatory documents, and how the figures published across this site are sourced and dated.
For who provides the advice and under what approach, see about; to ask about anything on this page, see contact.
This page collects the material a reader is entitled to before acting on anything here. Some of it is specific to the firm and arrives with the transition to a new arrangement; where that is the case it says so plainly rather than leaving a gap you would have to notice.

Figures
How the Numbers on This Site Are Sourced
This site publishes specific tax rates, contribution limits, plan match formulas and worked examples. Here is what stands behind them.
Every page carrying figures also carries an assumptions block listing each one, its source and its tax year. Those are primary sources wherever a primary source exists, IRS revenue procedures and notices, employers' own SEC filings, and regulatory testimony, and where one does not exist, the page says so rather than substituting a secondary source that sounds confident.
Where a figure could not be established, it is named as a gap rather than estimated. Several pages on this site say plainly that a particular plan provision is not publicly disclosed and point the reader at the document that would settle it. That is deliberate, the employer plan guides in particular each carry a section on what their employer's filings do not say.
Figures go stale. Contribution limits, tax brackets and crediting rates are re-indexed annually, and plan provisions change by amendment at any time. Every figure is published with its year. Confirm anything you intend to act on against your own plan documents and a current source.
Worked examples are illustrative. They use stated assumptions, are not based on any real client, and are not a projection of what your own situation would produce.
Third parties
How Employer and Company Names Are Used
Several pages on this site are written for employees of a specific company and name that company throughout. BAS Financial is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any employer or plan sponsor referenced on this site, and is not an authorised financial services provider or vendor for any of them.
Company and plan names are the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the employee populations these educational materials were written for, and to describe the benefit structures discussed. Every such page carries that statement in its own body as well as here, see any of the employer plan guides.
Plan provisions vary by hire date, bargaining unit and plan year, and change by amendment. Confirm the terms of your own benefits against your employer's official plan documents before making a decision.
General
What This Site Is Not
The content here is educational and general in nature. It is not individualized investment, tax, or legal advice, and no page on this site takes account of your particular circumstances. Nothing here is a solicitation to buy or sell any security.
Tax matters are discussed in coordination with a client's own tax professional. Nothing on this site substitutes for advice from your own CPA, enrolled agent or attorney, and several pages say explicitly where that professional is the right person to ask.
If something on this site is wrong, we would rather know. Corrections are made visibly and dated rather than quietly, and at least one page on this site carries a dated correction notice for that reason.
Questions about any of this
If something here is unclear, or you want a document that is not yet linked, ask. A question about disclosure is a reasonable question and gets a direct answer.
